The that I do it here is to attach the *.vcs file as attachment to the email
message. When the user clicks on the attachment, it will open their Outlook
calendar, display the contents of the VCS file (info about the appointment)
and allow them to save it in the calendar.
If you want you can go to the Macromedia Exchange and search for vCalendar.
There is a custom tag there with all the code to create the vcs file.

I found a nice description on vCalendar standard creation and a UDF on
cflib, but what I'm unsure of is where to put this newly created piece
of code. Do I just put it in the body of the email, attach it as a file

Do a search on VCalendar - it's a complete specification on how to
create Calendar entries via a VCS file
I think there's a simple one created on FigLeaf, but I can't be sure if
it's still there
