If you are tired horsing around with Regular expressions, just try CF_REextract here:
http://localhost/CustomTags/REextract/testingREextract.cfm
- Select http for input mode,
- enter RE1="[[:cntrl:]]+USGS[[:space:]]+"
- enter RE2="USGS[[:space:]]+|$"
- output mode = list
- extract = last (you may also have them all in a query)
