Connection Reset by peer?

Trying to execute a query that has worked just fine for months. Today I
get this error message when I try to access the cfm page:

Error Executing Database Query.  
[Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC Driver]TCP/IP error, connection reset by
peer.

Any ideas as to what it means?
