64bit Win2003 worked fine here on Tyan dual Opteron. I have no
idea if it increased performance, I am more interested in
stability and won't run it in production until long after it has
been released, but I didn't find any immediate problems.

Or *BSD, Solaris, AIX or any of the other operating systems that
runs on 64 bit for a decade already :-)

I second the recommendation for Tyan boards for servers. No
research into add-on cards required, it is all onboard :-)
If you just want to buy a box instead of a board, don't forget to
look at Sun.
