same here althought I had a little play with cloudscape, it looks like you need to create some sort of object that will start the connection. That article rocks.
I must say that I have achieved the same portable environment with CFMX 7 , but I know you could do it from CFMX 6.1 simply by using tomcat and adding the application as a WAR.
