Thanks Barney, I arrived at a similar solution that seems to work: xmlSearch( local.circuitXML, '/employees/employee[not(@status="inactive")]' )
and just for future info for anyone who stumbles on this thread, you can specify multiple values to exclude like this: xmlSearch( local.circuitXML, '/employees/employee[not(@status="inactive" or @status="probation")]' ) Thanks again Barney!
