I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to do, but I would recommend that you avoid messing with Contribute's files from CF if you can. If you want to have CF content within a file that someone will edit via Contribute, make sure the CF content isn't in an editable region, and use a CFINCLUDE/CFMODULE/CFC call to get the content in there in the first place.
