My thought was to use this simple sight as an excuse for an easy test
project for future framework projects.  But, I'm now having second thoughts
and may just keep it simple.  Maybe instead I will try out a framework on
one of my personal sites.

IMHO, frameworks are to deal with complex situations and make them more
systematic to work with.
If your application is simple, just keep it simple!
