You can use it, just limit your db connections to 1 and it should be fine until you get a ton of traffic. I'm under the assumption that you're not looking to spend a lot of money. I believe HOF runs on Access.
Alternatively, you could use the Desktop Edition - MSDE - , or the new SQL Express 2005 and have a fully T-SQL compliant DB until you upgrade to SQL in the future.
