are you trying to send this from your computer like using developer? Many ISP's now days require you use their smtp service to send mail. even though you may have setup pop and smtp.domain.com to do this.
Your lucky your even getting a reply. Many times messages like that would just be dropped completely. If this is the case, that your running this process from home, you will need to setup the outbound smtp server to that of your ISP. That's about all I got on this... Make sure your Reverse DNS is good... that might be another issue...
