Yes, I am using JS on the landing page to get the time difference, and the time is not really being stored anywhere, it's just for the peace of mind of the client. So, I just output that value on the landing page as in "file qwerty.pdf took xxx seconds to upload". The client now has a concrete idea of how long each file takes to upload.
Honestly, this thing serves no purpose whatsoever to me or the file upload system. I won't get into the "whys", but it made my client very happy.
