Check out my latest blog entry from yesterday. Rob Gonda jumped in a suggested I head down the Dojo path since its the most complete library at the moment. I think he's right as it definitely has the best feature set and incredible industry backing. It seems a little heavy though as the Ajax version of Dojo is ~129kb. Thats pretty big to send to a browser.
I'm also looking at Mochikit since its gotten some really good press recently.
