You can set Client and Cookie variables, however if the browser doesn't
support the cooki then the cookie will only be available on this page only.
And yes if you set a cookie prior to a cflocation then the cookie will not
be set when going to the new location.

You can set client (client or cookie) and session variables on the same page
that displays them.  But what you cannot do is a CFLOCATION on the same page
that sets a client variable.
