One major feature of IIS 6 is the increased 'security'. As in: switch everything off until you tell it to switch on. Not so important on a dev box, but when you don't know about it, it can be a pain. Like when you offer a download of a mime type the server doesn't know of, it just acts like the file isn't there (404) when in reality it is and you just need to add it to the config.
