1. From my experience with eclipse there is no way to split the editor window.
2. Are you getting errors from the repository when you synch with it? This may sound dumb, but I used to get similar errors and if I refreshed the package explorer window it was fine. However, the error I was getting was something to do with the files are out of synch with the file system. Is this a problem with the plug-ins I am using? Have I set something up incorrectly? Any help with these would be majorly appreciated as they are supper annoying.
