I have been tasked with something I have never tackled. Researching online and in several books has turned up several helpful pieces of the puzzle. However, I am hoping that the vast experience on this list can nudge me towards additional resources I have not found yet for the last two items I cannot figure out.
I am building a simple app to track patient visits, etc. I need to create a web tool to let the office admin add fields to the patient table and have those new fields appear on the patient profile page. I have found information on creating tables, dropping tables and altering fields but I still cannot identify how to just add a field to an existing table. More importantly how do I restructure the patient output page to list the dynamically changing table data? I am still reading various application books but either this is so simple it is not covered or I am more simple minded than I like to think. Either way it doesn't seem to be covered in depth anywhere. Anyone have a reference pop to mind? I appreciate your time.
