Re IIS7 not running ASAPI filters.  Sure it does, its just not in the
default installation.  (At least on Vista, which I've been running for 3
days now, you have to go into:
Control Panel/Programs and Features/Turn Windows Features on or off/
Internet Information Services/ World Wide Web Services/ Application
Development Features and choose ISAPI Extensions and ISAPI features.

Btw, it took some time and I'll blog my experiences, but it was possible to
install CF 7.02 at on Vista and Connect to SQL Express 2005 SP1.  Just took
some time (and googling) to figure it all out.

The only reason it could be so would be that IIS 7 does not support the 
ISAPI protocol anymore,
weird enough...
Or the problem is more general about dlls and Vista.
We have been able to run CF5 in CGI mode, but not with ISAPI.
