It honestly depends on what kinds of files she's opening and with which
programs. I would honestly suggest that she simply avoid taxing her system
like that as it's probably damaging her machine.

That or she can pick up a Quad Xeon PowerEdge Server on Ebay and open as
many files as she wants... =]

She says she's got 2gb ram and that shouldn't be an issue. I don't know
enough to know. Just trying to get pointed in the right direction.
