You mean like this?  

<select name="" id="" onchange="document.formname.submit();">

The onchange would submit your search form when the value was changed.

Hey,
I have a drop down list with given options and  i have to make a search
page such that when one of these options are selected, for that value
database search happens and the results are displayed specific to that
