Depending on where you installed CFMX, the path may be different, but it'll be 
something like this:

/opt/coldfusionmx/bin/coldfusion stop
/opt/coldfusionmx/bin/coldfusion start
/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd restart

You can then do /opt/coldfusionmx/bin/cfstat 1 to watch it process requests.
