Since we're on this topic.... I usually manage images on disk in a similar fashion. I've recently begun working on a new project, and all binary content in stored in the DB (images, music, etc.). My gut reaction is that this would add overhead, a dependency on the database, network traffic, etc. What are your thoughts?
I would really like to hear everyone's thoughts on best practice in relation to disk storage vs. db storage for digital assets.
