Just having a backup generator helps if the power outage is quite local... But if the power outage is a large grid it doesn't necessarily do the trick. Every downstream device must also be protected. If you are using a tier one provider that is usually the case (cross your fingers). Alos power outages tend to bring on other issues - instability and hardware failures are more common when power is fluxuating.
