Open Source... sure... however, if a free, Open Source solution
doesn't meet my requirements, then I'm willing to pay to be picky.
Open Source doesn't mean "have it your way"  (As in Burger King)
It means you take it the way it is, or change it to suit.  It doesn't
mean somebody out there has to provide a solution to my specs for free.

Your boss needs a better perspective on the issues here...
