Terry, are your functions backup at AHP? FTP, HTTP, VPC? If so, since you, I, and others have weathered the storm at AHP, I think now is the time to stick with them, and I'm not saying that for AHP's sake. I'm all for helping smaller companies, but not at the point where I have to sacrifice my business. There would be no one is the business, I would think, who would be more sensitive to customer feedback and needs than AHP right now, and who would be willing to do more to satisfy customer discontent.
Like you, I'm looking for, at least, "expanded services" (failover), but I'm going to stick with AHP and see what they're willing to offer to keep us as customers. We could come out much farther ahead than where we were before this started. Now, to your question... all I can say is this... I have never used shared hosting with CF, and the only reason I chose to out-source my hosting was the availability of VPS, which would give me full-control over the server at a reasonable cost. I can't imagine trying to run my sites sharing CF settings and having limited functionality.
