I'm not sure unit testing is what you're looking for right here (not saying unit testing is a bad thing... just not sure it's what you're describing). step debugging sounds more like what you want, and it is available in CF 8... except it's thru eclipse, which you've sworn off :) -- A byte walks into a bar and orders a pint.
