okay. I'm working with a client who has a website that allows users to upload image files. He doesn't want to restrict the size limits of the file uploads, so sometimes these file uploads take 10-20 minutes depending on the original resolution of the image and the user's bandwidth. I regularly see these requests go over 5 minutes.
I'm sure that http is NOT the best way to upload a 50 meg high res photograph. I think what might be cool would be some kind of ActiveX control that would resize the image *BEFORE* uploading it, but I'd want it to be as simple to use as a regular file upload form. Ultimately, the average user doesn't upload more than 5 or so images, but it seems like they're almost always high res, and there are currently 50,000 users and the site is continuing to grow.
