Hey there.  Our integration utility it built in vb, I think (we had a
contractor do that part).  It integrates with QB Desktop and Client Server -
most of the recent editions (we've tested it back as far as QB 5, I think).
I'm happy to share our parts of the code although there may be a proprietary
DLL or two in there.
