SQL 92 is the official and current standard for SQL that most database 
managements systems adhere.  Most add their own functionality to the 
basic standard but they all pretty much work the same within the 
standard.  Even Oracle finally came around to the SQL 92 standard JOIN 
syntax with their last couple of versions.
