I was going to say.. CF 8 takes a lot of time compared to 6 and 7. My start up times range from 20-30 seconds on a "lite" install with nothing but 6 or 8 DSN's on my dev box to ~ a minute on my new(er) laptop. If this is a duel processor quad core box there is something seriously amiss. Did you try removing the DSN's to see if that is the bottle neck?
