Doug,

WDDX does not answer the question.

What you want to use is CFCONTENT. example:

<cfcontent type="text/xml"><?xml version="1.0"?>
<html>
    <head>
        <title>This is a title</title>
    </head>
    <body>
        <h1>Hello</h1>
    </body>
</html>
