We have had trouble with our cluster of 3 live web servers of late. I have
already used SeeFusion to identify a number of problematic pieces of code
and have reduced the troubles a great deal. However, there still seems to be
an underlying problem that is causing CF to crash out with multiple
instances of the error:

"unable to create new native thread The specific sequence of files included
or processed is: [xxx] "
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: unable to create new native thread

Classic.

I am looking at the Memory / Active Requests SeeFusion graph and am
wondering whether or not it is pointing at something to be concerned about.
I'll try to paint the picture of the graph, if I'm not clear I can post a
screen dump some place:

   - The graph is spread over 90 minutes.
   - Active requests average at 1 and peak at 3
   - We are averaging 4 CF pages per second
   - The memory usage is peaking at 90-95% and troughing at 40-45%
   - The time between a trough and a peak is averaging at 5 mins, i.e. there
   18 peaks in the graph

In other words, the memory useage is going from 45% to 95% in five minutes
before being cleared out. The 8 CPUs aren't breaking a sweat, sitting at
around 5-15% useage.

I realise this is a very broad description but, in your experience, is this
memory useage rate something to be alarmed about? The peaks sure look steep.

TIA,

Dominic
