I have ColdFusion 9 installed standalone and the performance is great. I also have it as a WAR file running on Tomcat 6, and it runs much slower.
Pages that take 100ms on the standalone server take 1000ms when CF is running on Tomcat. My Tomcat instance is fine, as other WARs run just fine with optimal performance.
