I'd have to put in a plug for Apple too. I just got the latest Macbook pro 15" with the core i7, 7200rpm 500gb drive, & high-res screen. It's screaming fast and the build quality is among the best I have ever seen on *any* product, not just computers. It's certainly the king of laptops, no question in my mind. No, not the cheapest. But the cheapest is usually not the best, and total cost of ownership of Apple stuff tends to be better than just about anyone.
