We're going to move to CF10 later this year but would like to improve our CF8 Verity search engine. Specifically, we've not been successful in using suggestions based on other spellings of words in Verity. For example if someone types in Steven Smith but it's really Stephen Smith, no results are returned. Suggestions are more often than not relevant. There are also a whole of slew of other problems.
Are people happy the Solr integration in CF10? Would it require a significant amount of time to switch to Solr if we want to use with CF8? What are the caveats?
