he said any .cfm...  you are referring to the default page only... 

however you can check to see if IIS has the .cfm extension setup and
pointing to...  hold on, let me check...

C:\CFUSION\bin\iscf.dll

well, that's for me...  CF4.5 server on a NT4.0 box...

good look...  i would recommend a full CF server reinstall if that doesnt
work...
