OK, so field workers will upload an Excel spreadsheet every day (Daily
Log), where each row logs some activity that day (meeting notes,
environmental spill along a pipeline, construction stop order, bird nests,
etc), including digital photos.

So the plan is to use http://www.infomentum.com/appletfile/ to upload
multiple files one fell swoop, as it were, including: 1 excel file, and
several other files: GIFs, JPGs, NVCs(?), etc.

I think I can assign a relatively unique folder for each upload under the
general Library folder. (Clever solutions for for folder names are
welcome. The first thought that comes to my mind is a folder name
combining date & time.)

I don't speak Excel/DTS very well. So how do I put each row in the
spreadsheet into a row in SQL Server 7? Automagically. Create a DTS
app? Any volunteers? How much?

Is my overall plan workable? What am I missing?

best, paul
