A page call in any IMG tag???

Hi all,

I was looking at an email the other day and there was a .jsp page url in the
src attribute of an image tag.

example:
<img src="www.domain.com/thispage.jsp?param1=yes&param2=yes">

I figure that this is how they track if someone read the email, and would
like to do something similar.

Has anyone ever heard of, or done this?
