I agree with the standard use of an open database.
I'm curious as to why you suggest PostreSQL over MySQL. I've worked
with
MySQL quite a bit, but not PostreSQL
other than a testing enviroment some time back. MySQL is getting to
be more
attractive to non-*nix & command line users as it runs reasonable
stable
on windows and has some decent third party admin GUIs available.
