In SQL you would have to have 2 single quotes for it to insert properly IE
Hard Copy Rec'd would be 'Hard Copy Rec''d'

You can use REReplaceNoCase to do it....

<cfoutput>#REReplaceNoCase("joseph's","'","''","ALL")#</cfoutput>
