i should point out that most hard core sql server types would
whomp me silly for suggesting that. if its at all possible build an
sp for each possible SELECT/ORDER BY combo you need
& clientside (ie cf server) determine which sp to call. you will
get the most bang for your buck (euro) from your sp that way.
