We're building a site for a company that uses a very complex inventory and accounting system that's based on SQL Server. We'd like to use only a few fields from the database maybe a dozen or so to display some items on the web. There are a lot of tables, a 100 or so. There aren't very many relationships; a table might have four foreign keys but only one realtionship. Lots of SPs and Views. There is no diagram.
How should I go about understanding this structure? Remember, I only need a few fields. Reading the MCSE book, it looked as if maybe a trace would be the way to go. As always, all suggestions are appreciated.
