Okay, now we have agreed on a codename/name and where we will be 'hosting'
the things. As I said before I have a box with no restrictions on use here
(i.e I am the administrator and it has a permanent connection) and it can be
used for free providing I am administrating.

Lets talk about features.... in my experience and it has been a lot of the
years with open source CMS's to multi-million pound ones is that they all
rely on a few core set of services/features (I use a lot of Spectra
terminology as this is what I am most familiar with apart from Broadvision &
Siebel dont let this side track you, they are all consistent with most CMS)

DB Platform : to run on alll
DB Schema : to run on alll
(both of which with as little or no modification at all)
Technology : XML, SOAP, WDDX, CF, XSLT et al any others we can easily work
in without having to have seperate downloads dependant on differing
technologies - e.i ASP ver, CF ver, JSP ver...

Ideas : Repository type config.

Abstraction Layer, API, COAPI ?

The Application should fundamentaly have :
------------------------------------------
Content Management (ideally abstracted)
- Object locking
- Casacade updating/deletions
- Easily be able to create delete objects without error
- Anywhere Authoring
- Plug and Play
- No Design Constraints
- Archiving
- Syndication
- Error handling
- DB Utilities

Document Management
Workflow and Process Automation
Roles-Based Security
Personalization
Business Intelligence
Syndication

These are just the main ones I believe that a CMS should have, I am sure
there are other!
