It's still recommended, but the latest version allows for developers who
cannot (or choose not to) use development mappings. I, myself, use the
non-mappings version on two of my web sites. There are also many
enhancements made within the last 12 months: increased speed, added code
management (XML-based documentation was developed for cfObjects about 6
months ago), reduced the base tags needed, added an event-based coding
system, and other features.
One thing that I still need to make is a sample application for the
event system like the ones that Ralph Fiol made for basic cfObjects.
Many people have sent feedback saying that they loved the event system,
but weren't clear on exactly how to use it.

Do you still need directory mappings set with CFObjects. That is one
reason why we choose not to use CFobjects over Fusebox at my place of
employement. But I did like your approach.

Just discovered this list tonight and was hoping to find some developers
who were interested in the cfObjects 3.0 project. Some of the things
that I've added recently need to be tested/refined and any new ideas
have to be developed.
Visit https://sourceforge.net/projects/cfobjects/ for more details.
