Shaun,
I would strongly recommend not considering the approach I think you are
proposing.

Your best solution is to have the CMS manage the navigation structure for
your site and embed/plug-in the content from the 'other' pages into the CMS
system.

Content systems give a lot of flexibility, but usually manage all content on
a site.
