HI Dale Not sure how far you want to push it but if you are keen to invest some time & effort you can do it with the JCE (Java Cryptographic Extensions) and an RSA provider like bouncycastle.
The upside is its all native java either provided with the JVM or open source. The downside is it takes bloody ages working it all out and piecing it all togther.
