Meet at 6pm for 6:30 start.

Speaker: Andrew Lorien.

The Federal Department of Finance is the gateway for a third of a
million Government contracts worth around about $184,506,038,139 over
the last five years. They asked us to make some really simple charts
to summarise the numbers.

We built the application from scratch in ColdFusion 10, using FW/1 and
ColdSpring. With a nightly data aggregation to summarise the
contracts, a very simple CFCHART tag some reasonably complex Hibernate
queries and very tricky zingChart work, we created a fast, responsive
window into some very important public data which has never been this
visible before.

For the next year or two it will only be available from within
government departments - so come and learn something about the way
your tax dollars are spent, and what we found easy and hard about
working with zingChart and a big precise risk-averse government
department.

Please RSVP to help with catering.
