i've found that too.. like i've sat on the train and had one of my "ooh that would rock" style ideas, then i mention that said idea to someone and they go "check this out" sure enough it exists..
eg: I was walking past a TAB one lunch hour noticed a lot of folk betting and what not. So i got to thinking, wouldn't it be cool to have a game where you can own a virtual race horse, and actually sort of become a virtual trainer. You then can take that horse to a virtual track and race it against other online players, but actually bet *real* money on the horses outcome. Which is determined by a random algorithium.. On top of that you can cheat by using perfomance enhancing drugs and what not which slightly boosts the horse..but if you get caught (another random algorithium - you get a negative rating and can loose your entire winnings for that month). On top of that you have to like buy your own stable/food etc..better the choice, more stat gains your horse gets and all that crap. Totally 100% my own creation / idea. Mapped it out on paper and everything. Sat down ran it past a friend and he goes "oh yeah seen that game".. i'm like "WTF...b.s you have..where.." showed me and while my concepts different sure enough it exists. Sux to be me.
