and to follow on from Mark, yes, dynamic documents and forms is a big reason for all of this (so I've been able to work out) which means that server technology will be right up there. AFAIK, Adobe has no one with *web* server technology experiance in Australia to the level that MACR has. We people who use MACR server technology aren't really interested in the rest of the Adobe product line - (chime in FOP/iText/cfdocument...) so there's no one from there that can really help us in the products we use. Marks' directly involved with server technology - that's too much expertise to loose. In fact I predict Mark's role will expand to incorperate even more server products to support (sorry about predicting more work for you, Mark, but you have to admit there's a good chance you'll be the bunny on the spot when Adobe come to push the latest whiz-bang offering...) anyhoo my 2c barry.b > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of > Mike Kear > Sent: Wednesday, 20 April 2005 7:31 AM > To: CFAussie Mailing List > Subject: [cfaussie] Re: Bye bye Mark and co... > > > I posted earlier that there are winners and losers in these things. > I've been through a lot of these upheavals, and every time, folks have > said 'well he's gonna go that's for sure, and so's he, and so's she", > and every time, surprises have resulted. > > When they come to put these two organisations together in Australia, > there will be duplications and some people will find new career paths. > > But you can't say just because Adobe are buying Macromedia, that they > wont need any of the current MM staff. that's ridiculous to say and > Peter it was wrong of you to say so.
