You raise some valid points. It was a little disappointing to see the way
Adobe presented the aquisition - in a very plain and corporate PDF laden
page. It would have been a nice symbolic gesture to use a slick Breeze
preso that MM's been using to present their financials recently.

However, I think there's still much to be optimistic about. Yes, Adobe
have a much more conservative image than MM. But rightly or wrongly,
that's what you need to crack the enterprise market. Within that market,
there's some incredible possibilities for combining ColdFusion with
Adobe's document workflow products. In this area they're actually doing
some interesting stuff. There's a good overview here:

It's still early days. A positive influence from Allaire certainly showed
after the last merger. I'm hopeful that some of the creative culture from
Macromedia will emerge at Adobe. As developers and customers, we're not
powerless in encouraging that.
