Hi.

I don't know if this makes sense to anyone, but I created another
server instance where I deployed an ear file that contained CF and
Flex (which had been setup on a Windows box), and it deployed
perfectly on Solaris.

The only difference between this instance that I deployed, and the
server instance on which I was earlier trying to deploy is that
webroot of the that instances is mapped to another directory.

It almost seems that Flex (on Solaris) gets confused when the webroot
of a server instance in not in same directory as the default server
webroot.
